Compact Digital Camera Raw Format

compact digital camera raw format

    digital camera
  • a camera that encodes an image digitally and store it for later reproduction

  • Usually captures images with the help of a CCD chip. The image data received is then saved to special memory cards or other storage media. (SmartMedia, xD-Picture Card,  Compact Flash,  Memory Stick,  SD Card,  MMC Card)

  • A digital camera (also digicam or camera for short) is a camera that takes video or still photographs, or both, digitally by recording images via an electronic image sensor.

  • A camera that records and stores digital images

    raw format
  • A camera raw image file contains minimally processed data from the image sensor of either a digital camera, image scanner, or motion picture film scanner. Raw files are so named because they are not yet processed and therefore are not ready to be printed or edited with a bitmap graphics editor.

  • A format in which the nucleotide sequence appears without headers or comments. RAW format must be used when performing an D. discoideum search in BLAST or FASTA.

  • AppleScript terms enclosed in double angle brackets, or chevrons («»). AppleScript uses raw format because it cannot find a script term in any available dictionary, or cannot display data in its native format.

    compact
  • a small cosmetics case with a mirror; to be carried in a woman's purse

  • Closely and neatly packed together; dense

  • Having all the necessary components or features neatly fitted into a small space

  • (of a person or animal) Small, solid, and well-proportioned

  • have the property of being packable or of compacting easily; "This powder compacts easily"; "Such odd-shaped items do not pack well"

  • closely and firmly united or packed together; "compact soil"; "compact clusters of flowers"

I HATE TECHNOLOGY!!

I HATE TECHNOLOGY!!

I tried to print off some pictures today so that when i move rooms in my house i can stick lots of my fave pictures on the wall as i can't decorate. HOWEVER...... the printer that I bought doesn't have a cable to connect it to the mac so I can't do it that way because my mac won't recognise the printer exists-as it wouldn't if it hasn't been plugged in. So....i plugged in my bluetooth dongle so that i can wirelessly send my pictures to my printer. Didn't work!!! the computer (and my phone when i tried) didn't find the printer so Im wondering if the dongle works?? The red light comes on to say it's working but it didn't do so well today. I then thought that I would just put the pictures that I want to print onto my memory cards and put the memory cards straight into the printer and print off them but when I tried putting my pics onto the camera card in my digital SLR I found that I couldn't do it because the mac didn't recognise the camera in the finder and i can't add pics through iphoto. So I tried with my little portable digital camera and had the same problem. I then thought maybe if I just use my card reader and add the pics i'm interested in onto my SDHC card i can put this straight into the printer and print that way. The mac didn't recognise the card reader and I was unable to find any working drivers for it off the internet. Also, my printer doesn't recognise any pictures on my compact flash card when i plug it in so even if I had been able to put photos onto it using the mac it probs wouldn't play that way-unless it because they are in the RAW format rather than as JPEG's- but I wouldn't know as i can't add JPEG's onto the card using my mac. THEN.....i thought if i add my pictures that i want to print onto my external hard drive I can then plug this into my old computer and use the card reader in that to transfer the pics from my EHD to the SDHC card in the reader. HOWEVER........when i plugged my EHD in, it told me it needed to be reformatted and that i couldn't add or take away anything that was already on there. So now i'm sat waiting for it to backup the 100GB of crap that I have on my mac onto my EHD so that i can transfer some pictures onto my SDHC so that I can put it in the printer for it to probably tell me that it doesn't recognise that it has any pictures on it. Perhaps i should just move house to somewhere that will let me paint the walls??? That would be less effort and would hurt my head less!!!! I felt the need to take a photo and document my anger!!

Mum, I miss the E-P1

Mum, I miss the E-P1

I got the priviledge to test drive the E-P1. I must thank Olympus for the short stint in taking this camera out to the streets and testing it out. What did I find out about this camera? All I can say is, it has allowed me to be more confident in taking street photography with a digital camera, other than the LX3 that I own.

I know I only have taken B&W so far, but I am trying to bring back the basics back into photography (composition and story-telling). It felt robust in the hand, compact enough to be less noticeable and it is solid metal body is well built. Though I would love to try this camera out with my M lenses, but I would have to purchase an M-mount to Micro 4/3 adapter for it first.

The B&W tones in the camera is a tad bit disappointing though. I am not sure if it is purposely done (with such wide mid-tone range) for the sake of increasing dynamic range? Only Olympus designers will be able to answer that. But I must say the grainy film art filter seems to be a regular fixture for me. This time, though lacking in mid-tones in the art filter, it is still easily fix with aperture and photoshop when shot in RAW format.

Well,... I am not sure how the new E-P2 will fair in the short test stated above, but the E-P1 is still one camera worth having for street photography. A tad bit noisy on the shutters, but I guess in an urban landscape, it is easily drowned by the city din. The relationship was good while it lasted, and thank you once again Olympus.

My last photo from this little wonder. It's time to return it.
